I was induced and my nurse told me something I won't forget I didn't want any pain meds I was having very strong back contractions and I had been in induced labor for 6 hours and she came in and asked if I was sure I didn't want anything I started to cry I told her my mom didn't take any and I don't want to I want to do this like her I want to be strong enough to have my son all naturamy mom said i wasnt induced thol she turned to me and said u have gone thur 6 hours of what ur mom only dealt with in last hour of a normal deliveryso she asked me if I would take the drip I gave in but told her no epidural
Hmmm, guess it just really depends on the person. I'm 40 weeks & 4 days and haven't really progressed any. I may end up being induced.
Hope everything goes smoothly for me like it did you.
I don't think it's more painful or harder I was induced wIth my first it was an 11hr labor & had no epidural. I know people who go into labor naturally lasting 24 hrs + & go with an epidural. So it all depends. I'm getting induced in 3 weeks with my second baby again.
I'm starting to think I'll have to be induced. I know its going to be painful regardless I just wish I could go into labor already.
I keep hearing and reading that induction is a lot harder.
Bummer :(
For me, the use of pitocin is much more painful!! I was trying to run backwards in the bed to escape the pain, lol
Thank you everyone for your responses!
It makes the contractiona hurt moee, but either way it's so much pain that I don't think it really matters all that much. I have gone into labor naturally once and was induced four times and did them all without pain meds so it is still tolerable.
I was induced and it wasn't even painful. They just gave me pitocin for about 30 minutes and my body took over. I was induced early on in my pregnancy.
Apparently it hurts more when induced but as I have only been induced and never gone into labour naturally I cant say from experience just from what the midwife told me.
