stretch cervix

My OB/GYN said Wednesday she will be streching my cervix to start off labor so I can get induced Thursday and give birth. Has any of you had this done before? Does it hurt? How do they do this?
I'm really nervous and feeling anxious.

I had it done yesterday but just a bit..my doctor told me that I'm 50% effaced with a soft cervix and 2 cm dilated.  I'm 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I'm getting induced on the 28th of Dec. Exactly at 39 weeks. Reason is because I've been having extreme pelvic pain and a dislocated hip. I'm just ready to end with all the swelling, heartburn and the hip (vjayjay) pain. When they stretch your cervix you might have some dull back pain and cramps. I had them but they went away.  Good luck!
