Try to keep healthy and fit through good diet and exercise and don't put too much weight on.  My last birth was at 42 and I wasn't able to exercise and put too much weight on and found a huge difference in my stamina level during the birth from when I was 35 and giving birth.  I'm not sure whether the difference was age related, weight related, fitness related - or all of them!

My son was also born 1 week before my 41st birthday.  Yes, there are a few increased risks, so typically what happens is closer monitoring, and additional testing being offered.  But remember, there are lots of us having babies in our 40's now, and most babies are born healthy and the moms do just fine.  All the best to you!

bb? Do you mean baby?

If you do mean baby...I turned 42 last month. Just a month before that, i gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Both of us are healthy.

Older mothers do have a higher risk for some things (such as birth defects) but if your general health is good, it is safe to have a child at age 41
