DollFacePR: I consider the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" (TCOYF) my fertility bible (I also use the TCOYF software), and my understanding is that your temperature rises AFTER you ovulate (which is why they say to have intercourse after the temperature rise is typically too late if you are trying to conceive), so I think it's the 8th.
Nikalicious: I like your way of thinking! Congrats on your pregnancy.
Hi Dollface PR...sorry I haven't been on here in a bit...life's dramas :). So anyway, when is your period due? It should be coming soon right? Have you continued to take your temps? What I always did is took my temp every morning when I knew my period was getting close. If I was going to get my period (meaning no baby :(...) my temp would usually drop the morning that I was going to get it. Now that is me...but.. Believe me as you get closer to your time of the month but that temp continues to stay high you can't help but get a little excited. I know BBT is confusing, but the more you do it the more sense it makes and the more it helps you to realize (on average) when you tend to ovulate each month. It helped to realize that I ovulated around the 12th day of my cycle and not the typical 14 day :). You don't necessarily need to do BBT EVERY single day of your cycle. Start on day 7 of your cycle or something. Makes it less annoying ;-)
As far as testing early, I always choose against it to prevent any undue let down (if it's too early). I always wait for when my period is due. Then test. Should come up positive if you are at that point.
And thank you for the congrats....I'm so excited yet so scared at the same time. I lost a baby back in December and I'm praying that I don't have to suffer a repeat. Still sending baby dust to you.
BTW...I'm a nurse so my answers are not based on a bunch of assumed info...have faith,it will happen. The fact that your temps are rising is a good sign in itself. It means your OVULATING! That's a big step!
That was fertility friend *******. Your temps look very good for pregnancy! Good Luck. I started taking a home pregnancy test as early as 6 dpo! They were the cheap but effective ones from online. I got my first, every so faint positive at 10 dpo.
The 8th. Your temp rises after ovulation. My temps rose to a second level after ovulation and rose to a third level once the pregnant stuck and remained there. I used ******************* for tracking. It considers temps, CM, and OPKs (if you enter all of that) to determine your ovulation day.
Congratulations on your bun in the oven..! And THANKS for the baby dust
This was my first time taking the BBT, and I didnt took it since my cycle. I read it stays up after ovulation, but in my case it keeps rising.
The 8th of may - 97.73
9th - 97.90
10th - 97.90
11th - 98.34
12th - 98.34
I've taken all @ the same time and under the same circumstances.
Thanks for your answer...! I'm a bit confused with the BBT, I think is easy just to follow my body signals.
Your temp will rise when you ovulate. When the egg is released progesterone levels rise which cause the rise in temperature. I would say you probably ovulated around the 8th. My BBT always shot from 97.3 pre-ovulation to 98.5 or more after ovulation so it was pretty clear cut for me to know. Me and the BF did it right before my temp rise in April and low and behold I have a little bun in oven now. Just found out yesterday. I have about a 26 day cycle and usually ovulate around the 12th day of my cycle....so I would say your odds are pretty good! I will hope good things and here is a little baby dust!
I always used the BBT tracker on Medhelp that way it told you when you ovulated. All of you have to do is type in your temps and it tracks it for you! It is so easy! Just download the ovulation tracker and it will save your sanity!
I would probably count May 8th, since that was the first day it rose, but good idea with bd'ing just in case!
Good luck!
I never did the BBT. I used the Ovulation kits & feel they work best. It seems that when I thought I was ovulating was wrong compared to the test. Good Luck
