counting kicks

I'm currently 35 weeks and have been told to really start counting my babies kicks. They expect 10 kicks per hour. My little one has active days but then days like today there hasn't been much activity unless I'm eating or poking around at my belly. I can go quite a few hours with very little movement. Should I be concerned?

Im going through the same thing today, his taking it easy today have to poke him to get him to move or put a bag of frozen chips on my stomach to know his ok. They dont really have that much space at around now. So i think movement is reduced....I dont think my baby has ever kicked me 10 times in an hour. My midwife just told me to familirise myself with my babies movements and if theres been a reduction to his usual pattern then give them a call.

My midwife told me 10 kicks a day. I thought it was 10 kicks an hour so i got worried and she looked at me like i was crazy and told me a day! So it made me happier :) :)
