Hoping u a speedy recovery!!!! How many weeks r u? Can I ask bout the sugery? Did u get put to sleep? I'm curious how did the baby react to the procedure?
Glad your recovering & that your baby is fine
I was 19 weeks and 5 days when they did the surgery. I was put to sleep. I was worried about the baby, but he did fine. In fact he is now more active than ever. I had an appointment today to ask the doctor about any other affects of the meds including anesthesia I should be worried about, and she said he should be fine. I had a cocktail of pain meds, and zofran for nausea from pain meds before being put to sleep with the other stuff. Baby seemed to do fine. However my recovery is taking some time. A growing uterus, active baby, and soreness from being cut open on my abdomen is hard. I can only sleep on my back, but propped up so I'm not flat. I have another week before staples are removed. However, I feel 100% better than I did last week this time.
By the way my name is Nikki too.
I am 31 weeks and i also have a hernia and thats been getting bigger from when i got pregnant. Drtold me i can't do anything till aftet baby is born which will be at 37 weeks via c-section. And to waite after that. I did not want to go under the knife twice.so how was it that you got the surgery done?
I was in so much pain. I couldn't walk and the stress on my body was causing contractions. I was in pre term labor. Once that was stable the doctor decided to work on the hernia. They tried to push it back in after giving me delauded. That didn't work it was too painful and popped back out. Then they thought my bowels and intestine was involved so they decided to do emergency surgery so I wouldn't lose part of either. It was the best decision ever. By the way I was initially told I had to wait too. I ended up changing obgyn because this was the second time I had an issue that was ignored. The first was kidney stones. So if you are in excruciating pain then I would really press the doctor to do something to relieve it. By the way I was only at the end of my 19th week when I had the surgery.
