I had my daughter's done at 2 months. The pediatrician did it with the pinch grip. We put really small gold ball earrings with screw on backs to try to avoid the catch factor and earring loss. She has had no problems she is 13 now. I will say that my daughter is allergic to fake gold and any thing non real gold. If you have issues wearing costume jewelery your child might also.

If you want to get her ears pierced, go to a licensed tattoo and piercing shop. You can look up online to find ones that are safe and recommended. I had my little girls ears done at one, so easy, fast and way more sterile. To me it was less traumatic. She was 6monts old and cried more when she had to get her booster shots. I would def do it again.
