Full of Question

I am 41 and May 13th I had a placental abruption at 25 weeks.  My baby girl died on May 17th.  (I have had 2 miscarriages prior) The umbilical cord only had one artery and one vein.  She was born with a cleft palate and heart problems.  Her heart ended up giving up.  According to the Dr., her lower artery that goes out to the organs was to small along with her valve on that artery did not close so the blood pumped both ways.  The hole that was supposed to close did not close either.  The Dr stated that she had to much calcium in her blood.
During the C-Section I lost one of my fallopian tub.

I miss my baby girl, my husband does not want to try again but I do not want to rule it out.
What are my chances of getting pregnant and caring full term?
What are the chances of having a baby with the same problems?
If she had to much calcium in her blood what are the chances that I passed on to much calcium to the next one?

Would adoption or a surrogate be an option for the both of you? I understand your desire for your own and go through the experience but your health (mental and physical) is just as important.

My condolances and good luck.

OMG, I'm so sorry for your loss - I can totally relate having lost a baby in the 2nd trimester as well.  You have some excellent questions - what does your dr say?  You might want to post your questions on the ask-the-expert forum since this one's only patient to patient.  The expert forum's answered by an ob-gyn who I'm sure will help you.

Again, I'm so sorry - you might want to consider grief counseling.  I did that & it totally saved my life & sanity & helped me work through the grieving process.  Bless your heart - you've been through the ringer.  Good luck to you - jennifer
