Got NT results today!!

Results were negative, everything was normal.  What a relief.  I can't realy see doing an amnio at this point but we'll see.

Those of you who had the NT screening done,....did you continue with more tests or quit?

The afp is just a blood draw and they look at alphafetoprotein levels.  Yes you can ask for it.  It is usually done at 16-18 weeks.  The quad test usually tests for spina bifida, down's and trisomies (by looking at hcg, estriol, afp and papp-a) but since you already have good downs and trisomy results you do not have to have that portion done again (and insurance might not cover it if you do have it repeated).  They only need to look at the afp level.  Good luck!

I just answered this below in your other post.  The only test I did after the NT was the AFP portion of the quad screen at 16 weeks.  The NT test does not look for spina bifida which the AFP does so it makes sense to test for it plus it is only a blood draw.
