Is castor oil safe??

I'm 37 weeks and 4 days and I'm so over being pregnant.  Well my cousin keeps telling me to take castor oil . What does castor oil even do?

It isn't the safest idea. It can cause diarrhea and vomiting which can make you dehydrated. Also it can cause baby to have a bowel movement in utero which is dangerous.

i took castor oil at about week 39 and i took a lot of it one night...castor oil is supposed to give diarhhia,i think, and that supposed to trigger contractions.... didn't work for me..all i got out of it is i puked 3 times and got a really bad pain on my right side..it wasn't appendix..the pain was so bad that we had to go to hospital cause i was crying with pain.. they gave some painkillers and made me stay the night in the hospital :(((( don't take castor oil...please :)

Nothing will help to induce your labor unless you are induced by a doctor. If you are already starting to labor many home induction tips will help speed up the process. Try pineapple maybe(: only fresh and lots of it will do the trick!

I'm with you I'm only 35 weeks and I've been over being pregnant!  But I heard caster oil isn't safe I forget why sorry but try looking it up on google. I'd just stick to walking sex and maybe spicy foods although I'd be careful of the heart burn. Everything I eat makes me have heart burn! But as soon as I'm 36/37 weeks I'm doing what I can to get this baby to come a little early! They say your pretty much full term so good luck and be safe!
