I can't believe they just surprised you with the gd test!!! I would not worry so much about last night but more so this morning's breakfast. On the bright side if you do fail at least you know that it is what you ate that day!!!!!!!
Hopefully you just pass!!!!! Sorry about the bedrest! I am sure it is getting old! But it is all worth it!
Hang in there Hannah!!!!!
Rachel
I'm on strict bed rest.. which means I'm only supposed to get up to go to the bathroom and take a shower. But I have been on bed rest for 7wks now and the reality is much different. There isn't always someone her to tend to my every need, so I often have to get myself something to eat/drink. DH makes sure I have convience food or left overs available. I try my best to stay laying down as much as possible, but on a long term basis, people just aren't going to be here for you all the time... I am 25wks now and will be on bed rest the remainder of my pg.. I see my dr every week so if things started to get worse, I would know it and make changes.. but so far things are holding pretty stable... so I think we are doing okay..
bed rest is pretty terrible tho.. i wouldnt' wish it on anyone.. I miss the outside world..
I hope you pass and don't have to go through it again. I didn't realize certain things could spike your blood sugar so easily...why would they not just do the 3 hour to start with. Seems to me many could fail the first one based on one meal....
Well,
here's hoping you don't fail your one hour or three hour and all you have to do is the bedrest (All...yikes, being told I need to do bedrest is my worst fear!) speaking of bedrest, do you have to stay in bed or can you do light activities as long as you're at home, i guess there are many degrees of bed rest aren't there.
I probably had the cereal at approx 7 a.m. and they took my blood at 9:30 a.m. so it had been a little over two hours..
I'm really not too worried about it.. since I'm on bed rest, the only time I get to leave the house is for dr appointments.. at least a 3 hour test would be a change of scenery.
cereal is bad..bad bad....if you're having insulin resistance probs..............how long before the orange drink did you eat your cereal? you need a good 2 hours for it to get down to semi-normal levels after eating i guess ultimately though it doesn't really matter because if you ended up having to take the 3 hour last time anyway you were probably doomed to have to do it again this time :-O) hope you pass the 3 hour! i wouldn't worry about the 1 hour any more what's done is done :)

diag with gd @ 14weeks :( )
I failed with my last pg and passed the three hour test by the skin of my teeth, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fail... I don't think I digest sugar very well anyway.. I can usually feel a sugar buz and get scatter brained and nervous feeling..
Man...that sounds bad. LOL. And, actually, cereal and milk in the morning ups your blood sugar. (The diabetes dietician told me that - and I tested the theory a couple of times. Yup. BIG spike.) Something about milk in the morning spikes your sugar. And the jolly rancher? Dang, girl. Ha ha. Well, I'd say it's a toss-up. I can't believe they didn't give a warning. If you're kind of borderline, you'll probably come back positive. Be interesting to see.
OMG you are hilarious!! Pie and ice cream for dinner, not dessert?? Sounds good lol! Cereal should not be too bad but the added sugar and jolly rancher could make it high!! I am sure you metabolized the pie and ice cream by morning! I know I ate a nice big carb loaded bagel before my first one with Isabelle(they told me not to fast - hello!) and I failed it only to pass the 3h one with flying colors!! They should give you warning!! It's not fair - that orange stuff is so yucky, no one wants to drink it twice!!
