the waiting game

I'm 35 and 5, lost my mucous plug over a week ago and was 2 cm as of Monday.  My midwife also said her head is low and she could feel it.  This is number 4 for me so you think I would be used to waiting!!!  I hate the last few weeks of pregnancy!!!

You are so lucky to do a home birth!!  I have a midwife this time who I adore but my husband isn't to supportive of it so a home birth would push him over the edge I think.  He is mildly supportive of my hypnobirthing choice as well.  He was deployed with the first two kids so he has only been to one birth with #3 and he didn't do so well!!  Lol I keep saying I will just call him when I'm done because it may be easier on me!

I'm pretty sure I couldn't have done it myself, but the notes I have were written by my midwife.  She was amazing.  My visits were always about an hour and we would drink tea and chat.  It was so personal.  This time around, I chose a "midwifery group" because it was really our only option because of our location and insurance.  It's not near the same, but I'm confident the end result (homebirth) will have made it worth it.  This time around, I have met with two different midwives so far and have not exactly felt the "connection".  It's still early yet and I'm still hopeful.  Not sure there will be "notes" this time around.  Maybe I will ask...back in 3 weeks.

Sorry you are feeling overwhelmed.  I completely understand.  This is my third, but my other two are both teenagers, so I am really content and peaceful this time around.  I can not imagine going through everything with 3 little ones running around.  I wish you wellness and serenity (wherever you can find it).  :-)

Never thought to keep notes of my births!!  What a great idea!  I'm not trying to rush baby, just a little stressed this time with 3 other kiddos to worry about at the same time and who will be with them.  I barely made it to 38 weeks with 2 and 37 with 1 and with my midwife saying I may not make it to 37 with this babe I guess it is just overwhelming this time.

I found the notes from my last birth and it is notated that I lost mine 2 days before I started labor (it was 15 years ago, so I didn't remember that).  Here's hoping you can get through at least another 2 weeks.  The waiting isn't much fun, but you also want to make sure the baby is term.  So exciting!
