What a jerk. My Dr told me she would write me to be off work as long as I wanted. (I only took the 8 weeks for csection) but it was nice to know she had my back if I got uncomfortable. What is his reasoning for not? Can you use vaca or sick time? Sorry.

What state are you in? I worked up til 36 weeks with all my pregnancies. Normal, no complications. The Dr said i shouldnt work past 36. Then got 6 weeks after they were born. I'm in Cali. You also have FMLA.

Under the FMLA law you are entitled to 12 weeks if your employer has more than 50 employees. get with your Human Services personnel for more information. Your doctor should not have a problem writing a note. Just ask. my Dr had no problem and faxed paperwork immediately putting me out of work early

Wow, sorry to hear that. Do you qualify for FMLA..you'd be able to start at any time.  Can you go to another doctor?

You are only entitled to 6 weeks. If you were to go on disability the doc has to approve it. Sounds like he won't approve it early. I think the only reasons they approve it is if it's a medical reason. High blood pressure is a reason. Do you have vacation or sick pay by your employer?
