could I be in early labor and not even know it?

I am exactly 38 weeks today and I have been having contractions every hour and a half along with lower back pain and I called my doctor and she said there was nothing to worry about. I am concerned I am going into early labor. This is my first pregnancy and I dont know what to expect.

You dont need to go to hospital unless you loose your waters or your contractions are every 3-5 munutes

Hi real labor is ifbu have a contraction every 5 min apart that's consider real labor?

I told them I want to go in and get my cervix checked and they said there was no need. I am a Navy wife so I go to Naval hospital. I might just go to Harrison tonight

I don't know y they refused but 38weeks is not early, u r past the full term mark(37). They should monitor ur contraction n then decide to let u go home or stay in. Go in, they wont turn u away if ur there. They must check u first.

Well I called labor and delivery and they pretty much told me to not come in even though I'm contracting

I think you should go to the hospital , contraction every hour could mean a lot !
