Normal to be FREEZING in the 6 month?

I am just over 24 weeks and am so cold that I can't stand it. I sleep at night with a space heater on and three blankets, plus a Snuggie that I can put my arms into.

It's probably 45-48 degrees outside so it's not like it's warm around here, but I'm so cold right now that my hands can barely type and I don't want to do anything but bundle under the covers.

I had always heard that pregnancy makes you hot...what's the deal with me???

Could you be low on iron (anemic)? I know that's pretty common in pregnancy, and I believe it can cause you to feel colder than normal. I was told a couple of weeks ago, I'm borderline anemic and was put on a low-dose OTC supplement.

It's definitely something I'd mention to my doctor if I were you. It seems like an unusual symptom and could be your body fighting something. Not to scare you at all, but I'd say just call and ask your provider about it. It could easily be nothing, but might as well just check and see what s/he has to say.

Hi,

get your thyroid levels tested!  Just in case.  Else, it may just be one of those weird pregnancy things.

Nasty hormones!!  I think they affect all of us differently.  Personally, I am overheating at night, but then again my husband has always been the human sauna..honest to God, he throws off an incredible amount of body heat.  I'm sure it's nothing but those raging hormones!  On a side note, can you believe how close we are getting?  Doesn't it seem like yesterday we were busy worrying about getting through the first trimester?  Time sure flies......besides being cold I hope your feeling good.  XOXO
