Hi Lisa,
I have never been through IVF, but I did want to wish you luck!!! Take care
22 eggs! Fantastic. I am hoping for 6 good ones.
oh yes just a little reminder you can always go threw Medicard.com to pay for your proceedure and then make monthly payments to them it help a lot because it cost so much money and if you have insureance they pay for for you drugs so when you get the money from that just put it on your payments chow.
I too went threw IVF i did my own shots of lupron i put them in my belly and the neddle is so small you dont feel it dont forget to inject them on an angle it's better and i never got mood swings but the day they took the eggs out i was so glad to stop the injections i was so sick of needles and i know that when your taking your shots for two week think you have to start getting another shot in the butt every day and you start to get ultra sounds every other day as well as having your blood drawn untill your eggs are a good size i was so happy when they told me ok we are going to take the eggs out i was good it is a little pain full because you have to think your body only has one but know you like 11 or more on each side it hurts a bit i ended up with 22 eggs altogether and 19 took so i was so happy they put put two in and now i'm 27 weeks with twin boys so ah yah i think you should take baby asprin while doing your injections and no drinking you should stop before you start your injections so any way good luck and keep my posted.
Thanks for the comments, they help!
ivf summer of 05......... i am a total whimp when it comes to needles.. my husband didnt think he could give them but he was a real trooper. i have to be honest though every night at 7pm (shot time) was not my bigget turn on of the day. I used a small ice pack (like the kind for kids lunch boxes) I froze the spot on my hiney (this was the muscle injections) for about 3 min before hand...... it helped tremendously... the leg or belly shots were not a big deal at all since they were not muscle injections. It is also an emotional roller coaster.. all of the specific timing was a little wearing, i think if you prepare yourself well for what is ahead you will do just fine. I tried to keep my emotions in extra check and i never really seemed to have a problem with mood etc.. i surely didnt need hubby saying to me.. "gol i can tell you are taking hormone injections" Good luck July is right around the corner............
Take some extra time for you before then.. maybe have a weekend small get away or something.............
I found ivf injections painless and had no side effects at all, no mood swing or anything else. PIO shots after retrieval are a pain in the arss so be prepared if you are doing progesterone in oil shots.
Good luck!!!
And also completed the 3 hour meds class!
