18 week U/S ( boy or a girl?)

Well, had the ultrasound yesterday and baby was moving around when proded with the wand, it was head down and legs up which bothered me, is that ok for 18 weeks? Legs were crossed so we couldn't see the genetal area... stubborn baby no matter what we tried. The techician suspected it was a girl due to the two white lines in the area but she wasn't going to give us a certain answer due to the way the baby was laying. We saw the baby sucking it's thumb at one point and shake head from side to side. Heart had all 4 chambers, pumping well at 156 bpm. It was also right on target measuring 18 weeks. Weighing half a pound, 6 inches long.

Has anyone had their baby head down and legs up and or crossed with the head kinda looking up at the stars  at around 18 weeks?  It bothered me but the tech didn't seem to think there was a problem simply had a hard time getting certain scans. But she wasn't saying alot either whether there were issues. At the end of the session she did say all looked good. Not sure if she was just saying that to calm me down. I'm so protective and worried about this baby that I can't help it even if there isn't anything to worry about. I didnt see anything wrong during the u/s but of course I still worry. Oh and at one point I was thinking wow what  long baby oh what a long leg but she was telling me that when magnified everything looks large. See, can't help myself. lmao Adding pics as we speak will be uploaded soon.

Anyone have any reassuring words for a worry wart?? lol

My dd was always head down on all u/s check ups.  You need not worry about that.
Congrats on a healthy baby!

My baby was head down too at my last ultrasound (20 weeks). Not really sure how she's been laying before, as I never really thought about asking until last time. Me and my DH were actually thinking that was a good thing, as our neighbor had to have a c-section as her baby would never turn. But I also know that this is usually the time in our pregnancies when the baby is the most active, since there's still enough room to move around quite a bit. So I'm sure their positions change quite often at this point.

Mine's a thumb sucker, too, by the way. The last two times I had ultrasounds, she was sucking her thumb non-stop, only taking a quick break to move around once the ultrasound probe got a little bit too close for comfort ;-)

I was checking your profile, but didn't see any photos... Hopefully the baby will be a little more cooperative next time, so you can find out if it's a boy or a girl!

Best of luck with everything!

:-)
