PREGNANCY HORMONE. IS SAFE TAKING IT?

Desiring to lose some undesireble weight I've been in a clinic where they sold me these ACD (pregnancy hormone) pills. (I'M NOT PREGNANT)
The idea is: For a certain period I would go through a special diet rich in protein (no carbs) and meanwhile my body "thinking I'm pregnant" would start to get "food" from my body. Eating my fatness. So there I'd start to loose weight.
My questions are:
Is that safe?
Would that somehow mess up my hormone system?
What the side effects?

I've heard mixed reviews. A local bariatric doctor that I know well and trust says it's a good alternative for some women...he said I would probably do well on it because I happen to be one of the women whose body has always reacted positively to pregnancy. During every pregnancy I lose weight, my skin and hair look great, I have energy (after the first few weeks), etc. So, I dunno. I was thinking about trying it...I'll keep you updated if I do.

I have heard of such a diet and I have been curious. But I thought it was called the HCG diet, IDK. For me it was always hard to gain weight during pregnancy and I was always lossing it unless I ate all day long. , lol.
I would ask the clinic about side effect and what not. Good luck!! I hope to hear your responses from other ladies:~)
