Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome/Hypothyroidism

Hi,  I am 35 with no children.  I have Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome and just had a total thyroidectomy.  I have been trying to conceive for years buy became very sick with Graves Disease in January 2007 and had to stop trying. I finally decided to have my thyroid out to give myself a better chance to get pregnant. I have never been able to get pregnant on my own.  My husband also has fertility problems so we are meeting with out fertitlity specialist again at the end of August.  I was wondering if any of you have had similliar problems and still had a successful birth and what did you do to accomplish your miracle? I ook forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

I have PCOS and hypothyroid.  I am 38 next week and pregnant with my first. Now 16 weeks.  Do see a reproductive endocrinologist.  Get your thyroid well regulated.

Best wishes

There are lots of people on here with PCOS who have had babies (not sure about both the thyroid and pcos but I am sure there are some - I just don't recall).  You are doing the best thing seeing a reproductive endocrinologist.  Best of luck!
