They just changed the guidelines for what is considered full term. 36 is early term 37-38 weeks is now pre term, 39-40 is full term and 41-42 is late term. Drs shouldn't be inducing until 39 now unless medically necessary. And like abbb01 said, your dates could be off. So are the ultrasounds that tell you the weight of your baby.

Ur dates can be off so baby maybe actually 35 instead of 37 weeks. If u go into labor naturally at 37 they usually wont stop it but most wont induce until 39 weeks unless safety of mom or baby is a concern

Why would you want an induction? You'll have longer, stronger contractions that will be harder on you and on baby. It's really not a good idea unless it's medically necessary. I know how uncomfortable it gets toward the end, but 37 weeks may be too early for baby, and you risk breathing problems for him/her. Talk to your OB or midwife about induction if you are curious, and be sure that you understand the risks. Good luck!

39 weeks is now full term and most doctors won't induce unless it is medically necessary.

I did at 40 weeks because they told me I was having a ten pound baby. That was ten years ago. But aftergoing through that the first time I won't do it again. Im going to wait for mother nature to take its course.  Good luck.
