late hpt results?

i would be very interested to hear from anyone who has had a negative hpt result after their period was due.  i have had two negative hpt results and i am at least one week past my due date.  i have continued to have pregnancy symptoms - period like cramps, breast tenderness, leg cramps and frequent urination, along with some weight gain and extreme tiredness.  can these symptoms be attributed to something other than pregnancy?  i am 47.  thanks. belinda

With two of my pregnancies, I was 3 weeks late with negative hpts until the positive tests finally appeared. Those were both healthy pregnancies and babies! best wishes!

My  situation was similar, with a minor difference.  I had several positive HPT tests (first response is pretty sensitive) followed by 2 negative Dr. urine tests, instisted on a blood test, and that was positive.  HPT's all have different levels of sensitivity.  Honestly, the best way to know for sure is blood work.  THats probably your best way to be sure.  Good luck to you.

I had a negative HPT with this pregnancy.  2 of them.  After complaining of symptoms for 2 wks my DH made me go to the Doc and do a blood test....and Im 16wks now.
