Update on Amanda (Adgal)...A little sad news

Amanda went for an ultrasound yesterday.  They told her that the placenta stopped supporting Ryder at 35 weeks and that she had no amontic fluid in the sac and that he was having a hard time breathing.  They told her to get to L&D ASAP.  She actually drove herself to the hospital in a severe panic (who wouldn't be...)  When she got to the hospital they did an emergency C-section.  Ryder was born last night at 7:30 p.m. (Canada time), he was 4 lbs 14 ozs and was 42 cm which is 16 1/2 inches long (if my measurements are correct).  He is in the NICU and will be staying there for a few days and she believes she will be coming home tomorrow or Monday.  Ryder is breathing on his own, but his sugar count is a little low.  She was able to nurse him today and it went very well.  She said he is the most beautiful little boy she has ever laid eyes on.  He has dark blonde hair and blue eyes.  She also said he is very very tiny, but just perfect to her.

She wasn't able to call anyone or give an update on the computer because she went right from her ultrasound to the hospital.  She actually left her wallet with her numbers in them where she had the ultrasound at.

She sounds really good, in good spirits and say's she can't believe she is finally a mommy and holding her beautiful son.  Let's please say and extra prayer for Ryder, but she's been assured that he is going to be just fine.

Debbie

That's why I said "little"  she had me scared to death when I was talking to her on the phone and she was telling me all the detail and I just yelled "Is Ryder Okay"  and she finally told me yes, then we went back to the details.

I got so scared when I saw sad news too.  I said OMG this poor girl has been through enough don't let something go wrong with the baby but then when I read on I knew that the baby was going to be just fine.  I am so happy I was crying just b/c I know that this has been such a long road for Amanda.  I am happy that she is a mommy now.  Her little boy Ryder will be just fine.  My 1st set of twins were born at 34 wks and my son weighed 4 lbs 6 oz and my daughter weighed 4 lbs 2 oz so they were tiny too but they were perfect to us.  He will be fine just like my 2 were then and are now.  Please congratulate her and wish her the best from me.  We hope to see pictures posted soon.  Take care.

Jeez, I almost had a heartattack, I'm so glad she was able to deliver him and he is being cared fore in the nicu. I had a bad feeling when we hadn't heard from her and I was thinking she might be having a c-section. I'm so glad they are both okay.

Congrats to them,
Joanne

When she went to L&D for the fainting, they only hooked her up to the monitor to check Ryder's heart and everything looked good, the next day she had her OB appointment and they did some blood work and they were sending her for an ultrasound on Friday and that is when they found everything and she went right over to L&D.

wow what a miracle survival, bless that little soul! A little fighter to survive 3-4 weeks without nutrients from a placenta that stopped supporting him at 35 weeks and no amniotic fluid! How did he survive!??  Is that even possible to live without food and water
for 3-4 weeks? That is one real miracle baby. Whew.

Oh, what good news that mom and Ryder are doing well! I figured she had him due to her not being on MH. Wow, 4 lb 14 oz., that is little. My biggest twin born at 33 wks was 4 lbs 11 oz. and she was soooo tiny. She is now in the 75% for weight and height at 11 months LOL! I am sure Ryder will do very well!

I am so pleased to hear the outcome of the story. Thanks for posting this Debbie and I woke up this morning to see if there are any updates from Amanda. It's so awesome that they were able to find what was going on inside and I am thrilled that little fighter Ryder arrived safe and sound. Congratulations to the proud parents!!!

Maybe I should have worded the title differently.  That's why I said "A little" sad.  So sorry to freak everyone out.  I justed posted based on how she was telling me and the story as a whole.  Actually when she was talking to me she had told me that the ultrasound tech told her that Ryder WAS NOT breathing, but I didn't say that because if that would have been true then how did he survive?  He must truly be a miracle and God was watching over him.
