Congratulations lalli_lo! Wow! I am 43 and 19 weeks pregnant. It was a surprise for me this time but I am considering having another after this one :). Best wishes for the rest of healthy pregnancy!
I am 49and half and 11 weeks pregnant. Complete surprise. I thought I was going though perimenopause, and giving my age what else was I supposed to think? Did u/s at 9 weeks and everything is ok. Scared and afraid to be happy as the steps ahead are still so many. I am keeping my finger crossed
I'm so sorry for your loss, no matter when or how, its always devestating and heartbreaking. I don't think either you or RavenT are crazy. Wanting to have a child and love a child holds no age limit. If it did, this might be easier for all of us. I am 43 and 20 weeks pg myself, so even though I'm not 49, I'm definately no spring chicken.
Good luck to you.
wow to sassysissy......im so sorry for your loss, hold youre head up im sure you are a strong lady with a loving family the lord will bless you again.
Hey ... there is another in your age bracket that is trying to get pregnant the natural way... I am 49 and have been trying for about three years... I found this site in Sept and another site called Natural fertility info. com... I am currently taking about 3 months off of TTC to take some herbs and such to help with the process... I have never been pregnant before so if I succeed... but then I believe anything is possible... and right now other wonderful things are happening as I get my body ready for pregnancy...
a portion of my story is on a posting in TTC over 40...
I am sorry to hear you lost your baby... but it is good to hear you are so positive...
thought I was the oldest... I even think some of the ladies here think I am crazy... trying to have my first child naturally at 49 yrs old...
Thanks to all my fellow mothers to be again. I lost my baby Charlie today.
Started with spotting and ended when the doctors told me my levels had dropped to 4000. I was so hurt at first then I came to realize it was just not my time. However, now I am pumped I want to get pregnant and have another baby. I am going to seek help. Is that crazy or what. I know that is what the doctor is going to ask me.
Good for you!! I pray that you will be blessed with a healthy pregnancy and another beautiful baby. If you have had all healthy children in the past, then I think that bodes well for you, despite your age!
I am AA. No I will not get an amnio. What ever the lord blesses me with is what I take. I will love it no matter what. I will not and have never subjected my pregnancy to too many test. One ultra sound is all the get. One blood test and no medications. And thanks again for the congrats.
amazing. Are you going to get amnio? I would think your risk of down syndrome is very high at 49. I am also curious at what your ethnicity is...there are certain groups of people known to be more fertile throughout their 40s. I am excited for you...please keep us informed and congrats!!
I am soon to be 50 years old. My oldest child is 30 years old, I have had a baby every three to four years since my eldest child's birth. I have been pregnant so many times I have lost count. I had spontaneous abortions, misscarriages. I have never used chemical birth control and limited barrier protection. My grandma had 18 children. I had two children since I turned 40 years old,my last one at 43 years. I have 5 boys and 4 girls. My doctor recently reset my hormone level. I asked does this mean I am prone to getting pregnant again, he said No, but you might want to use protection. It has not been two months. Bam, Pregnant. I am afraid, saw the heart beat. I am about seven weeks. I will keep you posted.
Thanks for the congrats. I am glad I found this site.
I too am curious. It is not often we meet women here conceiving naturally in their late 40's. I believe the oldest has been 45. Congrats on your pregnancy, and good luck to you.
Conceiving naturally after the age of 45 is so incredibly rare, that there aren't any statistics on this. You likely won't find anyone in this forum who is going through the same thing as you but you will find a great support system.
I was reading through some of your posts and see that this is your 10th child in about 8 years. Could you share your story with us?
