cervidil to loosen cervix

Hey has anyone had cervidil inserted to thin the cervix. Does it work?

Yes I'm on pitocin now.The cervidil thinned it but I didn't dilate much.

Your contractions will get very intense if they give pitocin too. I'm not one for saying get an epidural, but the contractions are none stop and hurt way more than natural contractions.

I was 39 weeks with my first. I was induced and they used cervidil on my cervix. It was a good experience for me.

I had cervidil inserted at 39+5 days and actually started my labor. It worked so well they couldn't insert my second dose and had to slow down my contractions.
