Gerber makes something called colic drops. They are probiotic drops that help build up the good bacteria in the digestive tract and will help relieve gas. You can also bicycle the legs and make sure you burp frequently during feedings. Also I'd you eat any foods that cause gas it'll cause him to have gas too. Try to limit things like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, beans, and don't take in excessive dairy.
Chevi93 - *saying this lovingly - :) * a lot of women in this group are first time mom's also. I've seen mom's who have "been there, done that" in the other age groups as well. That being said. I am 37 and a ftm. My son is 7th weeks old and exclusively breastfed. He went through the same thing at 2-3 weeks old. I hated seeing him in pain and didn't know what to do. Eventually it got better in time, I guess as his digestive tract continues to develop but I did make sure to take the time to burp him more often during feeding. I think it's easier when they are breastfeeding to just let them sit up there and go on and on not realizing that they are s-ucking down lots of air.
I have gas drops but didn't use them because the active ingredient doesn't tackle gas in the intestines. Just the stomach. And all his pain seemed to be intestinal.
He's doing much better now and I can tell the whine he has when there's a burp that needs to come out. And baby. Those are some loud burps lol.
Gripe water is great also
I used mylacon infant drops and laid baby on the stomach across my knees and rubbed the lower back. Works miracles. Good luck and congrats :)
Infant massage is great. Also, if you are nursing, be careful what you eat. Foods that can make you gassy will make her gassy, as well.
Google infant massage and it will show you a number of techniques
Idk why it keeps cutting out breast fed. But is there a certain way to massage her?
Learn baby massage. Its great for both of you and can help baby pass gas, relax and sleep longer
