pregnant at 47

I just went for my yearly exam and the doctor did an internal sonogram last week.  I was supposed to get my period 2 days later.  Now I'm about a week late.  The doctor saw my ovaries and told me they are still producing and to be careful.  Would he have been able to tell anything from the exam if I was pregnant.  Seems like he would have been?

Well, over the weekend  I ended up having a miscarriage.  I've had three others, but it is still hard.  Thanks to everyone for your support.

thanks everyone for your comments.  I did go to the doctor and he drew blood and did another sono and said he thought he sawsomething but it was very small.  I am not dealing with things so good right now.  I have 5 children ages 17,15,14,12 and 4.  I know this is a blessing but I am so worried and I can't even tell my own mother because she will be so upset.  My husband and i have had some marriage things going on the last year and finance things.  He is very positive though.  I'll know later today about my levels.  Thanks again.

I agree with the other two comments.  A very early pregnancy is not always detectable by u/s.  Home pregnancy tests are typically quite reliable after a missed period.  Use it with first morning urine for best results.

he would've only been able to tell from the sonogram if the lining of your uterus had thickened at all.
have you taken a pregnancy test? if you are worried about not getting an accurate result or it being hard to read try a clear blue digital test. I got a positive with a hormone level of 27.

If you were in really early pregnancy, i.e., the first month, the doctor would not have been able to see a pregnancy by ultrasound yet.  You could take a pregnancy test, it should register correctly by this point.
