Pregnant?

I am 40 years old and about a month ago started feeling "kicking" sensations. I took a home pregnancy test and was negative. Now the "kicking" is getting stronger and feels more like "movement" at times. I feel like I'm going crazy, could the test have been wrong? My periods have been irregular lately also.

In all honesty, if you were 5 months pregnant it is highly unlikely you would have a negative pregnancy test.  Also, you should have other symptoms such as missed periods, not just irregular.  It is a myth that women menstrate while pregnant.  They may have some bleeding, especially in first trimester, but not period like.  I think it is probably unlikely you are pregnant, but never say never.  You really should see your Dr.  A blood test will clear this up fairly quickly.  Yes, people have given birth not knowing they are pregnant (if you believe the TV shows), but I would think it highly unusual. Good luck to you.

Do you have any other symptoms of pregnancy?  Have you gained weight?  Talk to your doctor about this and have them do a blood test and/or ultrasound to find out for sure if you are pregnant or not.  Generally you would have discovered a long time ago that you were pregnant if you are now five months.  However, there are actually people who give birth and didn't know they were pregnant until then.

I got my IUD removed about 6 months ago, had sex a week or two later and have avoided ever since for fear of getting pregnant. About a month ago, I started feeling the movements, turned to my husband and asked when the last time was, he told me it's been 5 months. That's about right!   I dont prenatal coverage, now I'm really freaked!

The test could have been wrong, or it could be something else such as IBS...in which your bowels go all wonky. I have IBS and some days it feels like I'm ready to give birth. I get severe bloating and it feels like there's a baby kicking up a storm in there.

If you are pregnant, then you are quite a ways into it...babies don't normally do the big kicks and somersaults until about 16 weeks or more. This is when you start to feel them.

I suggest seeing a doctor who could run tests and do an ultrasound.

Good luck
