Question about acupuncture

Well I have been trying to get pregnant since my early 20's but within the last year and a half I got insurance that would help pay for IVF.  I have had 2 failed IVF cycles.  I read about acupuncture helping.  I would like to know what you guys think (did you use it, do you think it helped, anything).  I started going twice a week.  It costs $71/visit.  I don't really like it.  I have a busy schedule and I feel like this is one more thing I am trying to fit in.  I want to do everything I can to improve my chances for IVF #3 but I am not really feeling this.  Am I just being cheap or bi$$hy?

I say stick with it! I didnt do accupuncture to get pregnant....but Ive done it before and it worked for my back issues. So I highly recommend it.  I also have a friend that did it to turn her baby the week he was due because he was breech. And it worked!

hi IIenda...You should really concider this herbs by ****.com
I got to know about these herbs through my sister that took it and got pregnant after 3 months (http://****.com/) with natural conception. She was just before starting her first IUI cycle.

This is my 5th natural IVF cycle and I had started taking the herbs 3 months ago (not very tasty but orange juice helps). So far in day 3 after retrievals I had better fertilization (5-8 cells embryo) in the last 3 treatments, my uterine lining became thicker (from 6 or 7 to 8 mm) and my FSH got a bit lower.
Still not pregnant but my overall condition is better and waiting for my blood tests. Hope to have good news for you.
BTW-this is the first month that I did not need to take vaginal tablets with progesterone due to my nice 8 mm lining.

I was told I would never be able to have my own baby because my FSH levels were so high, and I'm 43. I wouldn't accept this, and researched alternative therapies. I soon started acupunture and herbal supplements. I needed to feel like I was doing something... enhancing my body (and mind!), so that my chances of getting pregnant could increase. Well, about 4 months later I became pregnant. Naturally. We were saving up for IVF, but I was still doing my part in the meantime with the chinese medicine, positive affirmation CD's, etc., and then the miracle happened. I believe that the acupuncture played an important role in balancing my body's functions and energies. Like you, I also didn't like it. For most people it doesn't hurt, but for me it does! I also tend to get bruises from the needles. If you can hang in there, I believe that it is a great alternative treatment. I am continuing to get treatments, and I hear that women going through IVF can benefit greatly from it as well. Good luck!

I did  acupuncture with my first IVF. Started it about 2 wks before retrieval, twice a week. Had it done before transfer then right after. Then con't til after my test, which was neg. Even though it didn't work, I loved it made me feel  really relaxed. Would like to do it with upcoming IVF but just can't afford it. Good Luck .    Debra

I did acupuncture before IVF, but not twice a week.  I did it once before and then once on the day of the transfer.  The transfer worked, so I have no proof that the acupuncture was anything but helpful, LOL.

I think you should continue the treatments. I did acupuncture for a herniated disk and it was the only thing that effectively relieved my pain, so I believe in it. If you change anything, try to make your schedule less busy!! Good luck.
