On September 9th God smiled on me when Grant Isaiah Simon came into this world at 8:39pm. He was 7 lbs. 9 oz and 20.5 inches long with a head full of curly black hair. Grant was born via emergency c-section at 39+1 because of my high pressure that came out of nowhere! Earlier in the day I went to my ob appointment at 4:30pm and my doctor took 2 blood pressure readings and told me and hubby to head to labor and delivery for observation. After monitoring me for an hour the nurses and doctor told me I would be having the baby via csection that day because I was only one cm dilated 60% effaced with weak contractions coming every 7-8 mins and they didn't want to take risks with what could be a long labor. I cried and was sad because Im a ftm who planned on a natural unmedicated birth and didn't want to have a csection as my first birth experience plus my mom was flying in the next day and wanted to witness the birth of her first grandchild. 3 hours after arriving for observation I heard my son cry his way into our lives. Ihe csection was quick and painless! I have been in heaven ever since even with cracked sore nipples from learning to breastfeed him on demand sleep deprivation and recovering from csection can be painful at times. Since delivery I've had two more doctors appointments to finally get my blood pressure back to normal range with meds. It has been so exciting learning things with my son and taking turns with my family to spoil him rotten! The even crazier thing is that I predicted and marked 9/9/14 on my calendar as the day I would give birth lol I was due on the 15th. Thank you mommies for all of your great advice and good luck to the ladies that are still expecting their bundles of joy.
