* updating my lady friends!! (((: *

okay, so all of you were right.. I worry wayyy too much & our baby is perfectly fine! lol

we went to our OB appointment this morning - 13w6d & "Baby A" seemed to be resting peacefully (he/she is not going to be a morning person.. just like mommy & daddy lol), heartbeat was great, and he/she has grown soooo much in 4 weeks!!! spine looked great also.. my OB has a somewhat older ultrasound machine so there was NO guessing of the gender, but we should get a pretty detailed look of things when I see the specialist about my cervix on May 6th! (((:
oh, and she didn't say anything about the Subchorionic Hemorrhage.. so I'm hoping it's gone?

her ONLY concern is my colon disease (Ulcerative Colitis) keeping me from gaining weight. I NEVER went
over 105-110 lbs. until recently (I did good to get where I'm at), but when I got really sick from my disease I got down to about 95 lbs. finally got up to 125'ish at one point. well, 4 weeks ago & today I'm holding steady at 122lbs. she says as long as I'm not losing weight we're okay, but she also said I'm at that point where the baby is going to be taking all of my nutrients & I need more.. SOOO she suggested Carnation Breakfast Essentials - I used to drink these after I lost so much weight from my disease..

I guess I'm just aggravated b/c MY disease could be hindering my unborn.. "/ definitely going to make it a habit to drink a couple of these a day though & continue with my prenatal vitamins, and everything should be fine!!

I can NOT thank all of you ladies for your support, prayers, talking sense into me when I needed it, and for telling me to chill out when I needed to chill outttt!! lol sometimes I know what I need to do, say, etc. BUT it totally helps to hear it from other mommies.. good, kind-hearted, caring mommies who are as amazing as some of you!!

I love you all so much, thanks for reading, and please continue to keep us in your prayers!!!
prayer works!!! ((((((:

No it's totally okay. It is hard to find someone with UC and pregnant. The reason your doc wants to wait for the next colonscopy is because one they don't like putting people under anesthetics while pregnant and if you do.it without the pain numbing agent it gets really really uncomfortable. I was lucky i had one early in my pregnancy 6 weeks in i didnt know i was pregnant until the next day. After that I've been up and down i watch what i eat and make sure i drink a lot. . See my gastro doc on the 6th of may for a follow up, she has me on canasa suppositories amd balsalazide pills i take them
everyday and so far no blood and cramps. I still use the bathroom about 3 or 4 times a day but thats good for me. If youre taking asacol ask for a new prescript asap its no longer on the safe list catergory B they changed the ingredients.

she said that too! she even said in SOME cases the disease ceases and/or goes away.. at least during the pregnancy.. which is fine with me b/c my colon needed a break!!! lol

I hope & pray my sweet baby doesn't suffer with this disease.. the only person who has this disease in my family is my aunt on my mother's side. she ended up having her large intestine removed.

she found out she had it while she was pregnant strangely enough.. luckily I've had no flare ups, other than my own fault once, and I pray it gives me a break.. at least throughout this pregnancy! I called my OB in a panic when I did have that flare up b/c I was terrified I traumatized the baby lol but she said as long as I was hydrated & it went away I was fine.. and I was!! ((:

oh, thank GOD for you!! I've not met one single person with UC & pregnant!!!!

she did mention ensure, but she said Carnation tasted better in her opinion.. I've had carnation, but never tried ensure.. so I'm willing to try it!! I may get tired of the same taste & want to switch it up anyway!! lol

luckily mine isn't really considered active RIGHT NOW - I got diagnosed August/September of 2010.. right before my 22nd birthday that October (ugh!!) - that was the first flare up that I NOTICED. I always had stomach trouble, never diagnosed with anything. I was in the bathroom from 2 a.m. until I went to the doctor at 8 a.m. I had a colonoscopy a week or so later to confirm the CT scan my doctor gave me. I've never been so scared in my life.. the bleeding, the spasms, I went from 120 lbs. to 95 lbs. literally in like 2 days..

I've never known pain until that day/week I had to endure that.. since then (2010) I've had quite a few flare ups, but it's usually certain foods that trigger it. my most recent was about 3 weeks ago. I ate seasoned green beans, not sure where I got that bravery from lol, and I suffered for a couple of hours. other than that I feel great!

so she's just told me to stay away from anything that triggers it, start these supplements, and like you said.. eat fruits, veggies, and stay hydrated! my gastro doctor doesn't seem too concerned either.. he doesn't recommend me getting another colonoscopy until  2018 I think? unless I truly WANT one and feel it's necessary..

ugh!! sorry so long, I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it before!! lol
sent you a friend request!! ((((:

Oh yea i forgot to say the disease won't hinder your baby. If you are the only one with it the chances that he or she will get it is very low, at some point your doctor may ask if you want to do a genetic screening first by blood, than ultrasound and then they may want to go into the fluid where the baby is i only allowed the blood because I did the research on the chances of him getting my disease.
