Am I wrong for wanting a brand new crib. This is my first baby. And my boyfriends family member wants to give us a used crib. But I don't want it. Me and my boyfriend got in to an arguement about it because he thinks its fine that we should use it because he doesn't wanna help me buy a new one. & my boyfriend is the kind of person who hates used stuff so why would he want our FIRST baby to have something so important used.

I want a convertible crib. Because im not going to be able to afford to keep buying new beds for the baby. A nice convertible crib very sturdy is less than $300 and will last me forever. It turns to a toddlers bed then a full size bed

I'll admit-we kind of fell in love with one of the 4 way convertible beds in a dark finish with an attached shelf with 3 drawers & a changing station on top. Its $349 on Amazon.com-which is the cheapest I've seen it anywhere-but I'm going for longevity here. If we're going to buys something new & expensive, I'd rather spend the extra hundred knowing he'll get years of use out of it (converts from crib to toddler to day bed to twin bed). A friend of mine bought one when her son was born & he still uses it 6 years later with room to grow. I like it when practicality & aesthetic appeal work together!

For my son I borrowed one from a family friend and it was wonderful. For this one we will probably end up buying one. We found one we really like that has a matching dresser at Burlington. We are going to register for it there so people can put money towards it as part of a baby shower present.

Your not wrong for wanting a new crib, especially being a ftm I understand that you want everything perfect. It really is a great idea to take as much as you can get new or used as long as they're clean and safe to use. Babies are soooo expensive and they grow out of everything so fast. If you can afford it though...I say go for it!!! Good luck to you!

@mamamacmurtry why don't u check on walmart.com, I don't want to buy a very expensive crib but since I have no space I need one with drawers, so I saw a white one with drawers for 230, is not that bad, and my mom is looking at yard sales and stuff, so if is safe I don't mind use but I'll buy the mattress

Honestly, as log as its up to current safety codes, I would take it! Cribs (and everything else for baby) are hella expensive! We're getting as much hand me down stuff as we can from friends who recently had little boys! One thing we haven't gotten yet is the crib & most of the ones we like are $300+ :-(
