1st pregnancy & Introduction

Hi everyone,  I wanted to introduce myself. I am 29 yr old and 4weeks pregnant with my 1st child. My husband and I have been trying for awhile and we finally did it! I'm beyond excited and my husband is as well. The past week I have had terrible abdominal pain, nausea, and got extremely hot while having a bowel movement. This prompt me to go to the doctor yesterday where I found out I was pregnant. I have been burping out of the blue for the past 3 days and I can't control how it comes out, it worries me for when I return to work on Monday. I am plussize and have high blood pressure. I have lost close to 50 pounds over the past year and haven't gotten to where I want to be. Any suggestions on working out while pregnant? What types of questions should I ask the OB when I go for my 1st visit? I like to do things naturally when possible, (ie. Food, meds, etc). I'm sure I'll have more posts to come and look forward to interacting with everyone. :)

Hi! I'm a 29 year old 5th time mama. Congrats on the baby. Feel free to pick our brains anytime :)
For the nausea try eating a lot of light snacks instead of heavy meals. When it hits try sour foods or ginger. The burping is normal at this point because gas is common in the first trimester. Try to avoid foods that cause gas. These can make it worse. As to weight. Working closely with your dr it is possible to maintain, if not lose depending on how over weight you are, and still have a completely healthy pregnancy. This is one of the things to bring up at your appt. The other big thing is your high bp. Make sure he knows about that. :) good luck honey

Oh and the burping :)....it may not go until after delivery. Bummer right? Progesterone slows the digestive process, causes more gas...and later the uterus holds your stomach right up under your chin, im convinced. I burp every time I get up from the couch...really gross. Lol

Well welcome to the forum! This one is definitely the most lively, supportive bunch of gals. And congrats!  Being your first, your doc will give you more info than you can get through, we all kind of tell you want isnt written down ;)
With high bp they are going to watch you closely, so heads up there. Its great youve been working on getting your weight down. Thatll help not only in pregnancy, but with you bp, obviously.  As far as working out typically you can maintain what youve been doing as long as its not too intense, and you dont get overheated. Staying hydrated is vital. Your doc may want to give you more specific workout tips given your bp issues.
Glad to have you here!
