1st pregnancy

Hello everyone, I'm 23 weeks as of today and I was wondering if anyone else was worried about labor and delivery? I don't know if it's just me, but it seems everyone I've talked to wants to tell me their horror stories about their deliveries. So, ladies I'm asking for some good delivery stories. Thanks! :)

The night before I went into labor I went window shopping with my family. The next day was Thanksgiving and I didnt think my baby would come early so I planned to have my parents and my hubbys mom have dinner at our house. I ended up waking up at 5am with contractions 7 minutes apart. We went to the hospital about 7am and they monitored me for an hour to see if I was in labor. During that time thw contractions were like really bad menstrual cramps. And I was starving so I at half a gronala bar that I later puked so dont eat once in labor! After an hour they moves me to thw delivery room, got an epidural, by 12:30ish I was pushing and at 1:20 my little boy came out. I did have to push for a long time maybe because I wasnt very good. Oh well. The epidural helped me relax and I was able to chat with the nurse and husband before pushing and in between pushes. It was really nice and smooth labor and delivery!

This is my 4th pregnancy. My first 2 i was induced and had an epidural. No problems and no pain. I felt the first few contractions before the epidural but nothing I couldn't handle. My third was different. I wanted to go all natural. I labored at home and was planning to go to the hospital when I was far enough progressed. Because I had always had an epidural I didn't know how to time my contractions very well. By the time I told my mom to come watch my two little ones so I could go to the hospital, she could see I was starting to push. Luckily the hospital was only 10 min away. By the time I made it up to L&D I was pushing baby out. They couldn't put an IV in me or anything. The nurses delivered my baby. When my mom called to check if we made it to the hospital alright she could hear the baby crying. The last 5 min were horrible but I honestly forgot how bad as soon as I saw my baby. An hour later I was walking to my recovery room feeling sore but 100 times better than after my first two. I plan to go all natural with this one too, just want to be at the hospital earlier. The have big tubs I can labor in so that will be helpful.

What helps me the most is knowing that women can go through so much. Holding you can't will be with everything. And it's amazing how our brains can block the memory of pain. At least mine can... Otherwise I don't think women would have more than one child.

My labor with my first was not even 8 hours. All i had was a shot of morphine and some laughing gas to help the breathing. Pretty easy labor and my daughter was born perfectly healthy

This is my second and I can't  pretend labor was fun. Before I got the epidural it was hell. But I slept through early labor at home went to the hospital 2 hours after I woke up and had my baby 6 hours later after pushing 10 minutes. Parts of it sucked which can't  be helped but it went as smooth and easy as I ever could have hoped for. Absolutly zero complications. Once I had the epidural it was nothing it took away all pain. It's  worth every second I'd  do it again a million times over for my litte boy but I'm hoping it's a girl this time lol.

This my second pregnancy and I still feel a little nervous. My first pregnancy I was induced and felt about 15 minutes of the most painful contractions (they say they are more violent when induced) before I got the epidural. Once I got the epidural it was pain free from there on. I felt absolutley nothing but a little pressure down there during delivery.

This is my first pregnancy too. Don't surround yourself with negativity because it will effect you and your baby. I suggest reading about hypnobirthing. It will teach you to stay positive and focus on the good things in life. Although I'm not there yet, I'm not as afraid as I used to be. I have learned to block out the negativity and made peace with my body. Our beautiful bodies were made for this! Listen to it ☺

I'm 37w+3 so I haven't been through it yet.... But I'm so ready.  Just keep in mind the end result of that labor... A beautiful baby.  Don't worry about others experience because everyones labor is different.  A positive attitude goes a long way.  Best of luck to you.
