2 diaper bags? help please

OK so my sister works at coach and got me a really nice diaper bag that also looks like a purse (I love coach) but my husband seems to think that a second diaper bag is over kill. My side of this story is I don't want to send our son to daycare with a 300 dollar bag! I would much rather get a bag from Walmart or something like that for daycare purposes. And use this other bag for my mommy duties...is that a stretch or would you be comfortable sending something like that to daycare?  Please let me know if my hormones are getting the best of me on this topic. He is making me sound crazy lol.

I'm not concerned about the judgement my husband and I work hard and I like what I like but I just know how people are I've heard stories of people's children's blankets and bottles going missing from daycare so why wouldn't an expensive bag go? Definitely going to get a twenty dollar bag just for day care.

Personally, I also have a coach diaper bag and will get another for daycare. I trust my daycare completely, but at the same time you never know when an something could happen.

Lol what do they judge? She must be a nice person based on her bag? Or wow that bag...she must be adventurous?  I dont get what judgment can be made off of a bag? Other than maybe its expensive meaning they must work hard and have a good job? Lol I just dont get it I guess.

I work at a daycare center & yes, they judge for everything!  & sometimes they are careless & bags get ruined. I've always had more than one bag. One packed for daycare that stayed there and one packed that stayed in my car. It was easier for me. This time around I was gifted 2 bags after buying one... *facepalm* I'll eventually use it!

I dont think people will judge you based on the bag you carry...but I wouldn't be surprised if your nice bag "accidentally got sent home with the wrong kid" I would for sure send a second bag.

Thank you all for the response. That's what I was thinking. Stuff comes up missing all the time and his bag for daycare would be just for that. My bag would stay packed as well

Get a second one! You can get them for for like 20 bucks!  They wont take care of it and other kids might be tearing through it! Could get stollen!

Some hospital give you a bag. You could save your money and use that one if your hospital provides one

I think that's a good idea.  Maybe let him pick out the second one so when it's his time to take the baby as well he isn't walking around with a purse lol.

Our you could just use a back pack or other bag.  I got a diaper bag and don't think it's much different than any other bag. Just the "insulated" bottle holder and the changing pad but you could byy those separate or use something you have.

So I actually had ordered a diaper bag online that is camoflouge . also my mom without realizes I had ordered a bag bought me my second one that can't be returned. So my solution is my man will use the camoflouge one and take the bows off since they are removable and I will use the one my mom bought. The whole reason I got the camoflouge one was so my man wouldn't feel girly carrying it around plus I love camoflouge just as much as he does. I would send the cheaper one to day care .

I would get a second one. You can't trust people. There are people who will steal anything. Or it could get dirty and messed up. I would get a second cheap bag.

Nothing wrong with having two bags.

I agree. My mil bought me a pretty & big purple Vera Bradley diaper bag. I would never leave it anywhere andit doesn't even cost as much as couch bag. We put a daddy backpack diaper bag on our registry and my hubby was much more comfortable carrying around a black backpack than a huge purple paisley purse bag. Just a thought for you.

You woukd have both packed so you wouldn't have to switch back and forth. And people steal the weirdest things...I work inb a thrift store and have seen it. Just because it's a diaper bag, doesn't mean someone wouldn't snatch it, it's still a designer bag and worth money...

I would get a second one for daycare, I really would, just in case.

I'd send the coach one.  What are they going to do with the bag? It is a diaper bag after all.  Besides who wants to have two on the go and switch back and forth?

Sounds logical to me. Plus you might not get it back one day...

You're exactly right. Daycare will not take care of the bag and will probably judge you. ... sad to say... by the bag. ...a cheap daycare bag sounds great. Don't let anyone borrow gifts. Hope this helps
