post pregnancy pain and discomfort

Hello moms, so my prince arrived on Thrusday after 18 hours of labor and 3 very hard pushes. He's a big boy weighing 9lbs 21 1/2 inches. Which resulted in a 3rd degree rip. Now I can't stress the fact that i am in constant pain and discomfort bc of the stitches down there. I honestly think it's worse than the contractions bc those came and went. This pain down there is constant to where it's so painful to sit and walk properly.

Before I was discharged from the hospital I was checked and have no infection or swelling and was only told to continue the pain meds and flush the area with warm water n soap.

I'm asking all the moms can any of you relate?  Did any one rip badly and if so how did you heal and recooperate? Any known home remedies to speed up the healing process?  Please share your thoughts.

I ripped soon bad!! I just used that water bottle and tucks constantly. But watch your pain after about 2 weeks I was still in Lot of pain and realized it was getting worse. I ended up getting a wicked uti after. But the pain is normal its.only been about 3 days so it gets a little bit worse Before it gets better. my stitches came out.on their own about a WK or.so.later And it made a difference in the weirdness down there.

Whatever you do do NOT push to do a number 2. It'll come out when it's ready but pushing can cause hemmoriods and lots of unnecessary pain. I practically Cheered every time I managed one for the first week. I know no one ever tells you about it. I'm 31 weeks with my second now and praying I don't need stitches this time.

Everyone always speaks about the pain of labor but never the pain of post labor. I was absolutely not expecting this. I cried due to this pain and didn't shed not one tear during labor! What makes it worse is I want to go number 2 and it hurts to push! I'm trying stool softeners but no luck yet. I'll give the iced condoms a chance. I really hope this passes quickly, I'm not sure how much more I can deal.

I havent had a normal delivery experience.. but my sis did. And she used a tyre to sit on so she doesnt apply pressure to the bottoms while sitting to feed the baby. She was asked to keep the area clean with warm water, wipe it gently, pat it dry and apply medicated powder for the stitches to heal quickly. Bcos the drier the area the quicker tge area will heal. I hope this helps u..

One thing I did do..... filled condoms with water,  froze them and put them inside the pad I was using. This numbed the pain and was recommended to me by a midwife!

I had approx 40 I internal stitches with my first. And I agree,  was way worse than the labor because at least the labor had an end! My worst little was it hurt every time I went to pee, I had to drink an anti acid drink to help my wee stop being so acidic and also had to spray myself with warm water while peeing. Sadly this didn't Help much and I would cry in agony every time I went. This lasted 4 weeks before all the stitches had healed and dissolved. Sorry I don't have any advice but you are not alone! I really hope it heals fast for u.
