3 Weeks Early .. But She's Here!
So I had my baby girl yesterday, January 28 at 37+2! She originally wasn't due until February 16th but at my 36wk appointment last Thursday I was already 2cm and her head was low! Well here's my birth story:
Monday night I was in the kitchen making dinner and I began having pain in my lower stomach. At first they were tolerable then they started coming with a vengence. It was 7:13 when I started thinking my pains were the real thing and not just bh. The pains were hard to time because they were so sporadic but everytime they came they made me hit the floor. So finally around 10 30, after eating dinner and drinking lots of water and nothing subsiding I told my husband to call l&d and they told me to come in. The whole time I was in denial and I just knew they were gonna send me home but nope they admitted me right away because my contractions were too strong and I was 3cm and 70% effaced. I decided to get the iv pain meds which really took the edge off and allowed me to get some rest, which I needed because I was in labor all the way til the next morning at 6:30am when my contractions decided to stop completly leaving me at 4cm. So they put me on pitocin and when they did that I decided to go ahead and get an epidural. About an hour after the pitocin started I was still 4cm and making no process so Dr broke my water and basically left me to labor on my own. I got to rest most of the day until about 12p when I started feeling like the epidural was wearing off because I was feeling pain all on my right side so I hit my self with two more shots of the medicine and nothing was helping so my nurse asked what the pain felt like and I said 'pressure' so she checked me and babys head was descending into the birth canal .. by 12 30 I was ready to push but had to wait for my Dr and with about 10 pushes my baby girl Riyanna Simone was born at 1:07p weighing 6lbs 0oz, 19.5 inches long and I still can't believe she's mine!
