3cm and restless

So I went to my Dr's appointment yesterday after being crampy  for a couple days and he told me I'm 3 cm dilated and that if the cramps/contractions get worse to go in. ... well they didn't stop all day so I went in.  I was there for a couple hours being monitored and had no progress from those 3cm.... I guess I got my hopes up that I would be meeting my new LO and now I feel like I'm stuck because I have things to do but I don't want to be far from my home and hospital in case he does decide to come. This is baby 4 for me but this time is so much different than the others. I don't know how long you can stay at 3cm... right now I'm 38 weeks.  Any tips to speed this up and get these contractions regular?

Uuuugggghhhhh dang it! Lol. Thanks ladies. They didn't say how effaced I was but they said his head is really low. I'm just so ready for him to be here. The pelvic and back pain is OLD!  :/

I'm stuck at 3cm as well. I was checked at 38 weeks 2 days and was 3cm and 50% effaced. Checked again at 38 w 6 d no change and again 39 weeks and 2 days still the same. I asked my Dr for suggestions and he said he doesn't have any that work. I'm currently 39 weeks and 4 days. Good luck
