What does braxton hicks feel like?

I'm a ftm, 26 weeks today and I read it's normal to experience braxton hicks contractions in preparation for labour. It said they should be painless so what are the signs and should you be worried if you don't experience them?

The pain just disappeared last night. So most likely was round ligament pain. Thanks for the advice though :) x

I had something like that happen to me at 31 weeks, I am currently 35w3d, it was this dull aching feeling in lower stomach and sometimes I would feel it in my back sometimes not. I also tried changing positions to see if it would ease up and it did for maybe a minute, then return and also sometimes a hardening stomach but not always. I went to the hospital after about a day of it happening consistently enough to worry me and it waking me up throughout the night. I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes and had to be given medication to stop them even after iv fluids for hydration. This is pregnancy #3 for me and first time anything like this happened, so maybe getting checked out couldn't hurt but I hope all will be fine for you and baby.

I wouldn't be worried but I'd bring it up next visit. It's probably your round ligament that's enflamed and bothering you. That's what they'll probably tell you anyways. It also may be your baby trying to keep its arms near it's head and causing more strain to the area.

In my first two pregnancy it was like my stomach would get really hard and then loosen up no pain just I guess pressure.

I'm not getting any tightening it's just a constant pain low in my stomach. I've had it since 12pm it's now 4pm. Its not excruciating just uncomfortable, like she could be pressing on my bladder but I don't need the toilet??? Should I be worried?

Mine have been painless and just feel like my belly is hard all of a sudden. I noticed them a lot more the bigger I got cause when they'd happen I couldn't breathe as well due to my posture, so just sitting up straight helped that but it made me realize I have more than I thought I did haha now since probably 35wks I get a mixture of real and bh and the real feel like period pains. Currently 3cm at 39wks!

Everything I read said they'd be painless but they most definitely have been painful for me. They occur low in your pelvis.
