9 pound baby!

I went to the doctor today at 40+3 and had an ultra sound to make sure the baby is okay, turns out she's 9 pounds! Has anybody else had a 9 pound baby? Is it a harder labor vs. a 7 pounder? I got super nervous about it, but I'm blessed she's healthy <3

So don't doctors rely on ultrasounds to tell then size of baby. My ob can tell w/o an ultrasound and be within just a, few oz one way or the other. And my mil fixture was the same way 30 years ago. Her ***** said my husband would be 7.12 he was 7.10. Said my sil would be 9.10 she was 9.14... as for the bigger baby my mother had my brother 100% natural no meds etc 10.3 and did not tear. Unfortunately there's no way to know weather or not you will tear :-(

Just a reminder the ultrasound isn't always right ... I was told my baby girl was at least 10 lbs but she came out 7 lbs 8 oz

My son was over 10 pounds... he was kind of hard to push out, a fair bit of effort but not too bad, I still enjoyed labour, but I think no matter how big, your first baby is usually a bit harder coz you've never been stretched before. My daughter was just under 9 pounds and she was HEAPS easier to push out but I think it was due to my body having done it before rather than the weight.

My daughter was 7pounds 14oz, my son was 9 1/2 pounds, and my other son was 8pounds 15oz. The pain was the same for all three no difference.

I was told mine would be 9 lbs and he was only 7 lbs 14oz. A friends i knew vaginally just had an 11lb 14oz baby so if your baby actually is that big its do-able.

My son was 8.8 lbs. Honestly birth hurts no matter the size. Its not the pushing its the contractions and those will come no matter the size.

At this stage, ultrasound are also quite inaccurate at correctly estimating baby weight. It's just a guess, educated one, but still just a guess. My SIL was told she would have an eleven pound baby due to her ultrasound, but he was less then 9lbs at birth.

My first was 9lb 10oz and was no problem at all. I don't have anything to compare it to but no tear or complications :)
