Haha me and my husband are both refusing to do it. I also refuse to go back on the pill for health reasons and we both hate condoms. We want 4 kids and are up to our 3rd in 3.5 years because we haven't found a birth control we like. I really don't know what will happen after the 4th kid! We'll probably end up creating an army's worth of children... Look out for us on TV in 20 years time!
I have the same fear. I won't do it, when I had my D&C done I went into a panic attack before they got me to the anesthesia room, so they had to give me something to calm me and knock me out first. I just can't do surgery unless absolutely necessary.
Tell me why is it us women that have to do it? Why won't more men get a vasectomy? I've tried talking my husband into it for several months. It's cheaper and there are less risk involved for men. I wish my husband would do it.
I plan on having my tubes tied as well I'm expecting my 6th child and I'm no millionaire my husband doesn't want me to but I'm doing it anyway and I 2 have has A surgery done once I had a fallopian tube removed for an Etopic pregnancy no sure if I spell that right but I'm afraid to have another surgery done I understand how you feel right now. Going to ask my doctor tomorrow and exactly how he performs the surgery
Thanks for the advice and information. I plan to talk to my doctor Wednesday about the procedure and different options.
Ask ur doc about ESSURE. Its done vaginally in ur ob's office. But it is permanent. They insert a very tiny coil in the tubes, which take like 3months to close them off completely. Its like a 45min procedure and they will test u later to insure u are sterile. But theres like no down time or discomfort. I considered this process but i have fibroids that i want to get under control first. Oh and its not considered surgery so they don't put u under...
I found for link for you but it won't let me copy and paste! Looks like you can just get general anesthesia or even just an epidural and be awake for it. Google tubal ligation procedure and go to the WebMD site. :)
I believe they do it laparoscopically, which is minimally invasive. I would ask you dr about how they do the procedure before you get too worked up or worried. I'm having mine done but this will be my 3rd c-section and I figured while I'm already open that's the time to do it!
