Terrified

Hello ladies..I am a 26 year old first time mom to be in October. Lets just say I am terrified to give birth. I know your probably saying you shouldve thought about that before you had sex but its the fear of the unknown. I literally catch panic attacks just thinking about it.

I toured the hospital today and literally was freaked out after seeing the operating room and labor room..

Ladies I know its painful and its totally worth it to bring a life into this world.

If you could please share your birth story!!!:)

My first pregnancy was when I was 18 n had my daughter at christmas the full labour went fine was induced and only last 6 hours only had gas n air as the morphine didn't kick in till I had her, then my second pregnancy went the same was induced n had my other daughter was in labour for 3 hours n only had gas n air,  now my third pregnancy with another girl just hoping its go in to be the same as the other 2! If you just try n relax n listen to what your body n midwife say you will be fine, don't be scared to ask anything they will help  good luck

I was a ftm when i was barely 22. I also have panic disorder which is basically panic attacks. Everything went fine during my labor and no panic attacks! You will be surprised at how calm and focused you become. Plus always take comfort in knowing there are pain control options. Even if you don't want an epidural they have other pain meds that will not only take the edge of but will calm you down as well! Good luck!

I was scared the first time I gave birth. But what helped me is finding a doctor that I was TOTALLY comfortable with. His nurse is amazing and so sweet. The unknown is very scary but I will tell you that once you get there and have it all going on, it does get a little wow, this is happening. But it will be over before you know it. I cannot explain the love I felt for my baby once I laid my eyes on him. It was INSTANT. I loved him before he was born but seeing them for myself was absolutely the best moment of my entire life. I now have two boys and both times I fell in love instantly. It's amazing what women can do.

I went through back labor and a few times my babies heart rates dropped on both of the deliveries and that scared me a lot, but I had a great doctor and nurses that helped me stay calm.

Just imagine back in the older days. My grandmother said they didn't have epidurals and no one was allowed back in the room while she was giving birth. It's amazing how things have changed.

My daughter was measuring large (big babies run in my family ) so I decided to have a c-section .i have two sisters whom babies were also large they decided not to have a c section with there first borns and ended up being in labor for hours beyond belief and ended up both with emergency c sections...so that's why I decided to do what I thought was best.it was planned very calm yet abiit painful after but def worth it....wouldn't have changed a thing now I'm pregnant with my second and I am looking very forward to the surgery... but most of my baby .:) good luck to u

Have you considered childbirth classes or using a midwife? Birth Boot Camp offers amazing classes and can be done online. Their website would tell you if there is an instructor in your area or not. Also, a doula for a hospital birth can help tremendously! Best wishes for your birth! Listen to your body. It knows how to do it!

I'm 25 and on my second baby.. I was in the same boat just absolutely terrified about the while birth process.. I swear my mom scared me when I was 9 and let me see my brother being born and she had a totally easy good birth but I was always freaked out... I had ny son 3 weeks early I had preeclampsia and my son was sunny side up so I had back labor so my epidural didn't do much for the pain sorry I'm not sugar coating anything it honest to god was the worst pain I've ever experienced but I got through it and once you see your little one the pain just seems to go away... I'm still freaked out and gave gotten a few panick attacks with thinking about baby number two but some how as women we get through and were so much stronger than we get credit for. You'll do great girl!

I'm 26 pregnant with my fourth. I had my last two natural. No meds at all. So much easier for me than with the epidural with my first. The unknown is scary. But you will do great. It just comes to you natural.

I'm a 27yo ftm also, due in Nov and have horrible anxiety without being pregnant as it is. I have been having horrible panic attacks lately thinking about giving birth! It's exactly like you said, just the fear of the unknown. All we can do is hope for the best and let the doctors do their job, and also not listen to people's "horror" stories they decide to tell you about their own labors bc everyone has a different experience. Just know you are not alone in your fears bc I for one am terrified also! I just try to tell myself so many women do this every single day and if they can do it so can we. We will make it tand look back on the experi

Hi im 27 third viable pregnancy had two natural births. First one was so scarry to me because he came 5weeks early and they could not stop the labor went in at 830 had him at 1100 I was so fast that I almost missed my window for my epidural.  So it was beautiful.  I cried the whole way to the hospital and all he was to early everything was not developed the works but when he came he came and everything was PERFECT.  So dont worry it all will be great all you need to do is PUSH and stay calm.... Good luck.

I'm also a 26yo ftm and completely understand your anxiety,  I'm not due til December.  Good luck,  just remember your body knows exactly what it has to do, all you have to do is keep your head from getting in its way (that's what I'm telling myself anyway :-P).
