Anyone changing jobs after baby is born?

I've decided once I come back from maternity leave to spruce up my resume and find another job. Hopefully something closer to home that still allows me to work from home a few days a week. Anyone else thinking about changing jobs post delivery? Has anyone already done it before?

I want to go back to my caregiving job.. I made my own hours and got paid weekly.. Loved it!!! But I'm thinking of going back to an office assistant because of steady hours and I could find a daycare within those hours as well.

Yes I'm actually in the process of doing my resume right now, due the end of may but I want to be ready as soon as I'm ready to return to work to find something more challenging

I have decided the same thing. I am hoping to not return to my position from Maternity leave honestly. I don't get any pay or benefits while I am off so I am working on my resume now and as soon as I have this baby I will be begin applying elsewhere.  Good luck ladies. Best time to start our new life with a new lil one I think.

Its a tough decision isn't it but you gotta think your really not going to be leaving at that time 5 days a wk are you when you have a little baba . Its hard cause I really like my job too but know it's just not practical to travel so far.  Good luck in what ever you decide least you got plenty of time to decide ive only got 2 wks left now till little bundle of joy arrives :)

I am in the same boat i drive every morning 40 miles n gota get up at 4am to be at work by 5am. I am currently full time....i love my job but with mu lil coming in September. My husband said to go down to part time but i dont want to cuz is just temporary n i will be loosing my position i am in. I work Monday thru Friday from 5 to 2 with weekends off. If i go down to part time i will loose those hours n be closing n working weekends.  So i have no idea what to do :/

Yes I work 54 miles away from work so when Ive had baby I know I couldn't cope with the drive and it being so far away . I also worked full time and once baba comes I am hoping to have 8 months off and then go back part time.  To receive my maternity leave I have to go back for 12 wks tho. So going to struggle on with the 12 wks using all my leave too and then going to try n find something closer to home but I must admit its a very scary move :/

Not really changing careers but after baby is born I won't be going back to work as I was laid off last month and haven't been able to find work as of late but I will be focusing myself on finishing up my degree once I feel comfortable putting baby in daycare

I'm currently a laid off union laborer the season is going to start right when I'm due.  I haven't told the office yet because I'm unsure I want to change careers but having my first child I don't really want to travel and be away from home and my baby so much.  I have no college experience though and no other work history plus I usually make 30+ an hour with a pension and medical so it's kinda hard to walk

I am considering it as well. But I will give myself about 6 months to adjust. New job means: coming in early and working late plus adapting new environment & colleagues. It might be stressful. after my first maternity leave it took me 3-5 months to adjust my daily routine. Meaning work & life balance. Good luck :)
