Anyone ever been ordered or is on bedrest?

At 29 weeks, I had my follow-up with a perinatologist from 10 weeks prior because I was placenta pre is then and they wanted to check n make sure my placenta was no longer covering the cervix. Thankfully it isn't but at the 29-wk mark, my cervix was thinning and opening on the inside enough for him to contact my OB n tell my OB that I Amy need to go in bedrest. Later that day, I had an appointment with my OB n he had me go to the hospital. The L&D nurse checked me n said I was only dilated 1 cm but when my OB came by, said I was dilated 3 n kept me in the hospital overnight n gave me two meds to take. Needless to say, I was discharged home but ordered on bedrest. I'm at 33 weeks now n still no baby n unfortunately because I don't have family where I live, I still do a lot around the house n taking care of my 20 m-o because my bf is not a big help. Anyone ever go through this or is going through something similar? If so, did you deliver early or on time? This past appointment (3 days ago) my OB mentioned going over due. I hope he was joking. I'll be mad cuz I could have been working all this time.

It's crazy. Never thought I would be because I generally eat healthy n an active but, not to mention my first pregnancy was so easy-no morning sickness or anything. But ever pregnancy is different n of course things always happen. Jp0812, hang in there. I can't believe you've been on bedrest since week 6. I wish I could relax and I try as much too but like I said, my bf doesn't help much n we don't have family here in Vegas. I've tried asking my coworkers but everyone has kids of their own n even coordinating schedules with them is hard, especially with the holidays coming up.

With my first we found out i have an incompetent cervix so I was on bedrest at 4 months. With this one I will probably have to be as well. I was very easy on myself but didn't stay in bed. It is definitely best to listen to the dr and good luck.

I am currently on bed rest due to my cervix being short. I am 35 weeks and was told by my doctor that my baby could Come at anytime. I understand how u feel. My boyfriend is always at work.

Yes I do feel a lot of pressure down there. Especially when I do too much. I'm in Las Vegas n my family is in California n Hawaii so it's very difficult. I made 34 weeks today. I'm so ready to just give birth already but I don't want a baby in the NICU. Hope you're doing well.

That's true...and it is definitely more challenging with another little active one. At my most recent appointment last week he mentioned I might go overdue. I hope he was joking

So sorry to hear that you don't have much help at home- I haven't been on bed rest but have had times where my husband had to work two jobs and wasn't able to be home helping much with the other kids- it's challenging to not have family and not have help.

I'm sure it's very frustrating to think that you could have been working the whole time- but it's always better to be safe, you just never know how things could have turned out if you had to be balancing work and your little one and the house.

OB's never know when the big day will arrive- they always tell me I will be late, when I go early and I will be early when I go late- lol!  It's a guessing game for sure!
