Atticus: Good Name or Weird Name?

Question

My husband loves (says its his absolute favorite) the name Atticus.  At first, I dismissed it, but it has been growing on me.  Especially after someone on here suggested the nickname of Ace.  I think now I really like it, but I want to know your gut reaction.  Is it a good name? or weird name?

My initial reaction was also no.. but after I got some feel for it, it's not that bad!
But I would make sure to google it to see what the name is mostly associated with, as it is quite unusual and ppl will perhaps draw a reference to something else..

I know a little boy named Atticus. Strong name, very uncommon but any lover of great American fiction will smile when they hear it. Atticus Finch is just about the bravest, wisest, fairest fictional character there ever was. I think it is uncommon enough to rate some teasing, confusion, and funny looks - but it is strong enough to outlast all of it.

I like it...also, that was the father's (lawyer) name in To Kill A Mockingbird... Love that book and movie, such a classic.

I like it personally. It's unique and u won't have to worry about confusion in a crowd. Sounds like a name from old roman times. I say keep it
