Baby ear piercing

When is okay to pierce your baby girls ears? I'm being told so many things it's a bit overwhelming.  I'm hearing do it when she comes home, after her first shots, after six months, and when she's a toddler?

I did my daughters ears at 3 months its so much easier when theyre at that age you dont have to worry about her touching it and u can
Control her better.

My oldest was two when she got her ears pierced. I recommend going to a pharmacy and buying emla cream to numb the area before she gets her ears pierced. My daughter didn't feel anything until an hr or so later. It is normally behind the counter so just ask the pharmacist for it.

My daughter was almost 3.. we were walking through the mall and she seen someone else getting it done and she said "mommy I want pretty earrings too!"  We asked her if she was sure and she said yes like 4 times so we let her do it and she loved it ( after the initial poke of course) :)

My daughter is 3 weeks old at the moment and I'll be getting hers done as soon as her if old enough that they will do it. Because I know if I wait untill shes 2+ she will pull at them... So I'd rather do it so she grows up with them and is use to the piercings.

3 months cuz of the shots they get. I did it then n my daughter never messed with them. She hates it wen she has no earrings so I just keep them in. N between claires n other earrings the Walmart piercing earrings stay in the longest without getting lost. Even the screw backs would fall out within a week

I did my daughters at 3 months. There are positive and negative thoughts on the whole thing. I personally did it at 3 months because I knew she wouldn't mess with them and cause an infection. I never had any problems and they were easy to clean. But you should do what you feel is right. In the end you're her mom, no one else. :)

It's usually about 3 months with utd shots. But some place do it earlier with utd shots. My sister had her daughter last year and got her ears pierced before she was a month.

Why not wait until she can be part of that decision? Some things are more memorable that way. Why do something to someone else just because you think it's cute? I just find the experience to be more special when she shows interest in having her ears pierced and you can go do it together. It makes it kind of a big deal for the child.. Unlike doing it before they can remember and robbing them of the experience and choice.

Usually people won't touch them till 6 months but I personally never did their ears. Even tho I wanted to do them I decided to leave that decision up to them when they are ready.
