Baby shower

So this is my second child. With my first I was unable to have a baby shower. So with my second I want to have a nice party with family and friends. We have no where to throw it ( my husband and I are having a jack and jill party we are throwing ourselves). So I was talking about it to my mothet and she made me feel so worthless about it and its just a babyshower its not that big of a deal. she told me to have it at my sisters house. One, we don't talk at all, and its like an hour drive there for everyone. to me its out od the question. My mon is being so pushy. Any tips or ideas for thrifty ideas for party or places? Also am I Just hormonal or is my mon crazy?

I would not have it an hour away, no one would come! But check like your local library (they usually have an extra room you can rent for a couple hours) or somewhere like that. Also local clubs and churches usually rent out rooms. But if youre looking for cheap but cute ideas go to pinterest.com and search baby shower there are soooo many ideas there!
