Due date is near but no signs of labour :(

I'm due on 17 August bur there is no sign of labour even my mucus plug is not released yet :(
My doctor told me to come on due date and she will give me artificial pains to start the labour... Im soo confused about it. Is it safe? Or painful?
What should I do to start the labour naturally?

Ur not alone due the 17th also I went into labor last week but stopped im just waiting this is the worst I hv appt this Friday I wil ask to hv help I cant take it no more belly is huge!!!!!!!! Gd luck

This will be my second. My first was exactly on time. I prefer to let this one come when she is ready. And if that means going a week pick my due date that's OK. I'm just ready to see her.

I'd start with the sweep! It's not as harsh as the other ways they try to induce!  I had my daughter 24hrs after my sweep!  And I'm sure ur done being pregnant just like the rest of us here at the end! Talk to ur doc and let them tell u all ur options!

Patience is always a virtue but waiting for that baby to come can test u right lol. What your doc is referring to is induction. Unless there's medical problems or u go way past your due date i wouldn't do it. It's extremely painful and 75 percent of the time leads to c section. It's not the 17th,so u still have time, here's an old midwife trick that's tried and true........tomorrow blend a cup of orange juice, 2tablepoons of castor oil,and 3tablespoons of plain vanilla ice cream. Drink it. It's gross and will give u MAD diarrhea but it works. Once u feel it working, take a warm shower and go walking. It takes a few days but by your due date something will have started to happen. Intercourse is good if you've already started to dilate. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

No worries mommas. If this is your first you will mostly go passed your due date. It is normal. I was a weeks and a half passed my due date with my first. I freaked out, but just keep in mind the longer they are in the better. Trust me your body won't go beyond 42 weeks and most hospitals induce at 41. And if you want to start naturally than speak up and tell your doctor. There is no shame in expressing your feelings on how you want your child brought into this world. Just keep relaxed and they will come in their own time. No worries momma.

Due the 24th but have been dialated to a 4 since 30wks but no labor yet
