is this true?

So this app says that once you're in your second trimester, you shouldn't sleep on your back anymore because of the blood flow to your heart..is this true? Because I'm 15w4d pregnant and switching from just my side to the other side is VERY uncomfortable. Also, am I allowed to sleep on my stomach still? I don't see my ob for a little so I'm just curious.

You can sleep on your stomach til it's no longer comfortable and you can sleep on your back til about 20 weeks.

What I sometimes do is sleep sitting up on the couch or prop all my pillows and blankets up in bed. I had the pillow with my last one and it did the trick, but hasn't helped so much with this one. Good luck we need our sleep!

I still sleep on my back because I can. Im 28 weeks and don't have any problems with it. Some women do get problems, like the belly pinches nerves or squeeze the blood flow. Your body will tell you when it's time to not sleep on the back any more. And as for sleeping on the stomach, same here, if you aren't uncomfortable with it you can do it until the baby gets too big. You can try pillows, start with those you have at home. It didn't work for me, I would get stiff and be in more pain, so glad I didn't buy one!

Yes so true. In fact ever since I found out I was pregnant  I avoided sleeping on my back. Get a body pillow it has been my best friend these past 8 months

Thanks everyone for the help! I appreciate it. I don't feel my baby move yet since this is my first pregnancy but I will def try to sleep on my left side more often and try the pillow. I've been experiencing pain on my back/side on and off, very painful. Because of this I'm trying to be extra cautious..with my luck I'd end up with kidney stones! Lol

When my sister was pregnant, she was uncomfortable laying in any position but on her back. Her doctor suggested taking a somewhat flat pillow under her back, but slightly off to the right, so she was still tilted to the left a bit, but not putting her weight on one side.
Me, I've always been a side sleeper, so its just been an issue with switching from side to side at night. (Sometimes rolling over hurts like a *!+@# if I roll too quickly.

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and sleeping on my left side gets me cramped up everywhere. I purchased a pregnancy pillow very early on that finally comes in handy. Time to time during the night I roll on my back because it feels most comfortable but I always roll back to my left side. Laying on your back is okay if your upper half is elevated up and laying on your left is best due to best blood flow. I'm a total belly sleeper always have been but it's not safe for the baby at all. If I sleep in a weird position now my baby will move around which is a sign of him being uncomfortable! Tons of pillows and a body pillow makes sleeping on the left side much better!
