gestational diabetes

Just diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I'll hear from a nurse on monday. The Dr. explained over the phone that it's because I have such a large placenta & can cause insulin resistance... not because I was doing anything wrong. ...I've been eating healthy....but there are even more eatding changes I'll have to make.  Plus monitering. Im feeling overwhelmed...im already grieving the unexpected loss of  my dad, im financialy stressed (but who isn't right!) Plus other anxieties this being my first. .... this has me feeling panicky, scared, ect...anyone have any advice, successful stories ect, it would go a long way to ease this .momma to be!

I have it now also and my dr tested me early which I am greatful so I adjusted my diet and take insulin.  It's hard at first but once u get past the first couple weeks it becomes routine.  Also I am almost 5 months and I have only gained about 6 lbs total which is great for me and the baby since we are both on track for a healthy pregnancy...so don't stress it won't help just hang in there and u will do great...=)

Don't stress I have had Gestational diabetes since 24 weeks I  am now 34 weeks.... I went to a dietitian which helped out alot just remember that this is for the health of your baby and you will do fine. And if you do have to take insulin is only for a Short while
