possible labor or BH??

I am currently 35+4 weeks along. Last night I started to have some bad back pain (worse than it's been this whole time) and my belly has been getting really hard more often too. So far today my belly has gotten hard about 6 times, maybe more. With my belly getting hard I do have some slight pain. This is my first and I don't want to jump and run to the hospital to be sent home. My doctor is also out of town for a week so I'm not to excited if I end up needing a different doctor. Please help. Thank you.

Thanks ladies. They've definitely become more often throughout the day. I just don't want to waste time to be told to go home and wait. Had a few friends say I should go in to get checked. I called my mom to see what she had to say. She said it sounds like the early stages of labor. She also stated she didn't have any pain or bh with my brother or myself until about 2hrs before we were born. I know every person is some what different and so is each pregnancy.

Yea sounds like bh but I would agree and call doc office and talk to a nurse and see what they say bout it. But u know even if you were getting contractions if it doesn't look like your really progressing they send u home its when ur water breaks that they keep you cuz there's a chance of infection if they dobt ge the baby out.

I wouldn't worry yet. If you have 5 or more painful contractions in a day, you need to get to a doctor. That what my OBGYN told me. If you want to be sure, call your doctor's office and talk to whoever is on call. They will be able to help you.
